"As a science student, I was trained to see the world through systems and structures that are designed, tested, optimised, and improved over time. Every system has inputs, processes, outputs, and feedback loops. When I began to observe law and governance closely, I realised that they are also systems, but unlike machines, laws operate on human behaviour, perception, and collective consciousness. The problem is not that these systems exist. The problem is that they are rarely examined with the same precision and discipline that we apply in science and engineering."
"Law is not static. It is an adaptive system. It evolves based on social inputs, political pressures, economic realities, and technological change. If we do not study it empirically, if we do not test it against real-world data, then we risk building theories that look sound on paper but fail in practice. In engineering, if a system fails, we diagnose it rather than defend it. We test assumptions. We identify inefficiencies and redesign. While in law and governance, we analyse outcomes and inherit frameworks without questioning their design logic, but we do not always investigate the underlying structure that produces those outcomes."
